Holiday Bourbon Cider

Hello Crockheads and Happy Holidays!

This year I decided I wanted to buy a Christmas tree for my own place and decorate early so I could fully appreciate the season for all of December. I bought my very own 8ft Christmas tree, I decorated the mantel with Santas, I placed festive candles with bows around the house, and had my first little tacky Christmas sweater party! I have to say, these things really do put you in the Christmas spirit!tree man

Kendall and I had our co-workers from the hotel over with a few other friends. Being a party on a Tuesday it doubled as CROCKPOTTUESDAY. I decided to take advantage of the beverage section of my crockpot recipe book for the occasion. I found a hot apple cider recipe and thought it would be fun to have people ladle cider out of the crockpot into their mugs.

1 Gallon of Apple Cider
1 Cup Light Brown Sugar
3 Teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Cinnamon Stick
3 Teaspoons Vanilla
10 Whole Cloves
2 Cups Bourbon (I used Makers)

Combine all of the ingredients except for the bourbon in the crockpot. Cook on low for 6 hours. Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves. Then stir in the bourbon and keep the crockpot on a warm setting. Serve in mugs!

I don’t normally drink bourbon, but this might be my new drink of choice. Its warm, cozy, sweet, and goes down easy. It is the perfect holiday drink and taste like Christmas in a mug!

I also got a few food ideas from pinterest and made pretzels dipped in white chocolate with Christmas sprinkles, The Grinch fruit kabobs, Christmas Jell-O shots, and Puppy Chow!

Thank yall for coming, it was really fun playing Salad bowl with yall Team Snowman, Team Rudolf, and Team Santas!!!
